I love to travel! One of my favorite things to do beforehand is to make an itinerary. Sometimes I follow it exactly but other times I just use it as an outline. I also like to keep lists of my favorite spots for cities I know well so I can give out recommendations. I’ve blogged about how to make the perfect itinerary, but here is how I store and share my travel plans, itineraries and lists of recommendations with others.
I recommend storing them somewhere that’s easy for you to access anywhere, whether it be your phone or computer. I use Google Drive. Then I can text or email the recommended lists or itineraries when needed.

I put a lot of work into cultivating lists and plans. So I love being able to share my information with others. Recently, a friend was in town visiting L.A. They messaged me on Instagram and I was able to go into my Google Docs and send them my L.A. list of favorite spots. The list is outlined by places to eat, see, etc. While I keep my very favorite places in the Google Doc, I also use Yelp to bookmark tons of more spots. So at the bottom of my doc, I have a link to my Yelp page. Yelp is helpful too because you can search my bookmarks there in a map format. If you’re in Santa Monica you can view the list to see what I recommend in that location, for example.

When another friend went to Japan and I sent her my whole itinerary planned from my trip there. Of course, the friend wasn’t going to all of the same cities but they used the list to hit some top spots I had visited. I also like to leave little notes by each spot, whether it’s a list of recommendations or a travel itinerary. This way people know what they’re getting and I can remember what I thought of it at the time.
