How to use a green screen on TikTok

Using a green screen on TikTok is simple and easy to do! It lets you superimpose a different background on your video. Here’s how to go about choosing and using the option.

First, start by creating a post and clicking the bottom left corner for “Effects:”

You’ll see a number of options. The “Green Screen” option is this one, the icon on the second row and far left:

Once selected, you can then choose from photos saved to your phone to use as the background. That looks like this:

The icon of the person at the top goes away once you start to record. It is there to show you that you can resize and move your image on the screen to make yourself larger, smaller or to change or rotate the angle.

You can see I used multiple backgrounds in the video above. I did this by recording with one background, stopping the recording, and then continuing with a new background. TikTok helps guide you to do this as you create your video.
