How I wrote my first 100 blog posts

How I wrote my first 100 blog posts

Wow, I can’t believe this post is almost my hundredth one! I started this blog a few months ago, vowing to write at least three posts a week – and I have. I’ve been able to do it with a mix of dedication, commitment and passion. Here’s how I wrote my first 100 blog posts.

Set goals

I started my blog with a plan. First, I had an idea. I grew this idea into a brand. I thought about colors, imagery, target audience, mission, etc. While creating the brand and what it stood to represent, I also started outlining the work that would need to go into it. Aside from three posts a week, I also wanted to spend time sharing content on social media, making marketing content, creating YouTube videos and starting a newsletter.

So start simple. Take your idea and develop it. Then set out to make it a reality with a plan.

Stay on track

In order to stay on track I literally wrote down assignments for myself in my calendar. Each week I had a reminder to write posts, work on a video, write my newsletter, make Pinterest posts, etc. By setting reminders I was able to stay on track. If I missed a week, I made up for it another week. I spent time looking into scheduling tools.

At first it was overwhelming, but then it became a routine. Just know it gets easier.

Have a vision

This post is categorized under Career like a lot of my blog advice on here since I’m considering my blog to be a business! I had a vision. My vision was to create not just a blog but a business. A place I could showcase my skills, help my audience and build a brand. By going into blogging with a clear vision, you’ll be able to stay motivated and to keep going.

And in the end, all of the steps above got me to my first 100 blog posts!
