
Adding chapters to YouTube videos helps organize your longer videos into shorter sections for viewers – and it’s easy to do!
Here’s what it looks like when a video has chapters:

To add the chapters, you’ll need to edit the description of the video:

It’s really that simple! By editing your caption like the photo above, the video will automatically add the chapters.

All you need to do is go into the caption and write a timecode and a title. For example: 0:26 – Day 1
YouTube chapters will appear as long as there is a timecode.
When someone is watching the video they can navigate chapters on the video itself. They just need to hover over the video and move the cursor to select a section (shown in the first photo above). Or they can click a timecode in the caption.
Your viewers can also pull up a chapter section like this:

To do this they need to tap the arrow icon on the bottom of your video next to the current chapter. For example, they’d tap the arrow to the right of Grand Canyon:
