Hi there! Try this: go to your phone’s settings. Go to Face ID & Passcode. Scroll down until you see: Reply with Message. Toggle it on. That should work!

The reply function is not there anymore IOS 15, is there another way?
Olivia Smith says
Hi Steve,
I’m sorry to hear that. When I updated my phone the reply option was still there. You may want to try calling Apple and they can help you!

Hi Steve,
To give you an update: I recently replied to another reader above on how to turn on the setting.
Go to your phone’s settings. Go to Face ID & Passcode. Scroll down until you see: Reply with Message. Toggle it on. That should work!

It should allow you to tap the screen above and outside of the new chat feed to return to the main chat. Hopefully that works for you!
