Ever been texting with someone and realized you meant to reply to something they said earlier on, but now it wouldn’t make sense to reply to it unless you brought up the whole thing again? Here’s a way to skip all that. With this trick, you can easily reply directly to an earlier message.

Here’s an example of what it looks like when replying to a specific text message:

In order to reply to a specific message, open up your texts and find the text you want to reply to. Next, touch and hold the message itself until a bubble appears with options. Select: Reply.

Then you can send a message directly back to that specific text.

This opens up a new “sub chat” window. You can either continue the chat like that, or you can click off and move back to the main chat. You can also return to the sub chat by clicking and holding on one of the specific messages from the sub chat.
