So you have a website link, or a web address or URL, you want to share to your social media. Or perhaps you want to send it to a friend in a text or via email. If you aren’t quite sure the best way for sharing a website link here is how to do it.
There could be a few options when it comes to sharing links to websites, and it all starts with what device you’re sharing this content from – a phone, tablet or computer.

If you’re on a computer and you want to share a website, click on the URL at the top of your page:

By taking your mouse and moving the cursor over this area, you can click to get the URL. Then copy that URL. next, you will paste it where you want it to go.
If you’re sharing it on a social media platform, how you share it will depend on which platform you’re sharing it. Here is an example of sharing it on Facebook:

I went to my Facebook page and then I pasted the URL into a ‘Create Post’ window. Make sure it populates an image. If it doesn’t, try refreshing the page. On Facebook, you have the option to erase the URL if you want to after your image populates and you can replace it with a caption instead.

The process for sharing works a bit differently when using a phone, depending on what browser or platform you’re on – but it will be similar. Try to find a way to locate the URL at the top of your device and tap it in order to copy and then paste it elsewhere. You can also copy it into an email or a text message this way.
If you want to share a Facebook post already posted on Facebook, look for the share icon:

If you’re sharing it this way, you can also share it as a text message or email too, just search for those options by clicking ‘more options.’ Other social media platforms follow similar steps for resharing content, but some may not have the option.

Another way you can share a URL is by finding share buttons. The page you want to share may or may not have them, but if they do this is a quick way to share the content as well. you can see my share buttons on this page just below here.
