In case you were wondering, jump rope is an Olympic sport, well a Junior Olympic sport at least. I know because I went when I was 11!

Growing up I loved sports. I played everything from softball to tennis to swimming and basketball.
I first got into jump rope when we moved to a new town. I was 9 and sports were a great way to make new friends. My elementary school had a jump rope team: The Palpitating Panthers.
At first you entered on the club level and you had to learn a certain amount of tricks and routines before making the team. Here’s a picture of us in our Palpitating Panthers uniforms.

Now, I still love jump rope! And it’s a great way to combine two of my passions: content creation and exercise. I create videos showcasing jump rope tips, tricks and moves.
It’s a cool way to connect two things I love. And teaching is something I also like to do, which is why sharing videos is a great way to show others new skills.

I also think exercise is so important. It keeps your brain active and alert and your body young. I’m noticeably happier when I workout.
Growing up with sports was a great way to connect with others and learn about teamwork and dedication.

Overall, competing at the Junior Olympics was cool, but what’s even better is everything else I got out of the sport – and the fact I still love jumping rope today.
