
Facebook Marketplace is a good way to make some extra money and sell stuff locally. Here’s what you need to know in order to use the platform.
First, navigate to Facebook Marketplace. The screenshot below illustrates what you’ll see. Along the left you have a column where you can browse an assortment of items, or narrow down your search by category.

In order to list an item for sale, click “Create New Listing” under the “Your Account” tab. Then choose what you want to sell – an item, vehicle or home for rent.

After that you’ll fill out the details, including a photo, price and any other information.

Facebook will need to know your location in order to list an item. You don’t have to put an exact location but can note a general area. Facebook will list your item with a circumference around that zone so people know the area they’ll have to travel to in order to get it.

You pick the price! Then people will message you if they’re interested in your item and to discuss how to get it from you. Once you sell it you can mark it as “Sold,” which is helpful in case you’re getting a lot of messages about it.
