There are a few ways to keep your Instagram page pretty, from how you design your bio to choosing a particular theme for your images. All of this contributes to your brand. A big way to tie things together nicely is to design covers for your Instagram Story highlights. P.S. This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure for more information.

Story highlights sit at the top of your Instagram page, just below your bio and right above your images. I try not to have too many because I want people to interact with them and actually watch them. I also try to keep them updated by going into a highlight and erasing old content in place of new. Each highlight is limited in how many photos or videos it can hold, so that helps as well.

A great way to add to your brand is having a cohesive look and feel. I have 7 Instagram Story highlights. Each reflects something different and reflective of my brand. I have LivNews (which is also my handle on social media) to reflect my journalism work, LivWell to reflect my health and wellness work and Get Savvy to reflect this blog.

When I decided to create a look and feel I started with color. I wanted a neutral and calming color palette. I googled around until I found a palette similar to the one you see above.

Next, I chose a name for each one and a logo to match the content. I wanted consistency too so all the logos I chose are white and about the same size. I created these using Canva, but you can create them any way you want.
Happy highlighting!
