
Who doesn’t love a good vacation? If you can take one, you should! It’s a great way to see the world or to take some much needed time to reset. If you like to travel but need helping choosing where to go and what to see here’s some advice on how to choose your next vacation.

My favorite part of traveling is the feeling of discovery. I love going somewhere new and feeling like I’m on another planet. But perhaps you just want to go somewhere to wind down and get some R&R. The first thing to decide before you choose your next vacation is what type of trip you want.
Then what I like to do is sit down with my computer and a map. I keep a list of places I want to visit on my phone which I constantly update. If you don’t have a list you can start by asking friends or people on social media for recommendations. Or try Googling and use specific phrases to match what you’re in the mood for, e.g. European beaches.

You may want to start broad with a continent before narrowing it down by country if you really have no idea where you want to go. Before I ultimately make the decision, I spend some time researching. I check Tripadvisor and other online reviews as well as government websites and the news to be sure the spot is safe and what I am looking for.
I’m in Tokyo in the picture above. I found this Mario Kart activity when I was browsing around on Facebook and Thrillist had a video on it. When I planned this trip to Japan I knew I wanted to go to Japan, but I wasn’t sure what cities. I spoke to people, looked online and planned quite the itinerary.
