
This is a pretty cool iPhone photo tip when it comes to taking long exposure photos, and it’s super simple!
First, set your camera app to take a “Live” photo by clicking the circle in the top right:

Then take the photo, and open it up on the phone.
Remember, if you know you’re going to take a long exposure photo, then you should be mindful of how you take the photo too.

Swipe up on the photo and you’ll see a few options:
-Live
-Loop
-Bounce
-Long Exposure

Update: As of 2022, you no longer swipe up but tap the LIVE button instead:

And there you go! That’s how you get long exposure photos with your iPhone. If you know about this option (which you do now!) you can also plan some pretty cool shots.

Long exposures work well with moving objects and light. So you could take a long exposure of moving water or cars on a freeway and play around with it – or try experimenting with a long exposure of the night sky.

Keep in mind that using this tool may depend on what version of the iPhone you have, and it will only work with photos you take on the phone. If you take a photo in portrait mode it will also not give you these options.
There are other ways to get long exposure too – like using an app or by attaching another camera to your phone. But this is the quickest way to do it!
