There are a lot of steps when it comes to creating a blog. First, you have to build the site, then you have to start creating content. Eventually, you realize you need to get people to see your site – that’s where blog traffic comes in. Here are some things you can do to increase your blog traffic and get those views to skyrocket.
Create solid content
Keep your blog updated with new content and make sure to keep writing! Continue to post on a weekly basis. Using SEO terms and hyperlinks will also help you continue to drive content to your blog and older posts. The more you write the more you will understand what your audience responds to when it comes to analytics (track your metrics on the backend).
MORE: Choosing a blog name and niche
When you first build your blog make sure you create an “About” page. Add your credentials to it and if they check out then this can also help your SEO.
Remember to stay focused and know your niche when creating content. If you brand yourself as a travel blog, then people may get confused if you start writing about cooking tips (unless it also ties into travel!).
Write catchy headlines
Make sure your headlines are active and draw attention to your posts. You want to give people a reason to be interested in what you’re writing about and sharing.

Promote your content on platforms like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Pinterest is a big site for bloggers to grow their audience and drive traffic back to their blog.
You can also join groups on these platforms to share your content with others.

Connect with other bloggers
If you network with other bloggers you can share each other’s content. Sometimes bloggers or influencers partner to do promotional giveaways to their audiences too.
Work with SEO
SEO is key to growing your blog traffic. I use Yoast SEO, which is a plugin on WordPress that helps me track my blog posts to make sure I’m writing and tagging the words needed to make each post SEO-friendly.

Don’t forget…
Make sure your posts contain photos, hyperlinks to your other posts or products, and a section for social sharing icons so others can share your work. Now get to work and start to increase your blog traffic today!
