
Sometimes electronics can be overwhelming! Yes, notifications can come in handy for reminders, work and life in general. But sometimes you just gotta hit the pause button.
I carefully set my phone to which apps receive notifications or not. Otherwise, I would feel bombarded with updates all the time. And sometimes no notifications can be a good thing.

First, I decided which apps I really needed notifications from, including text messages and Slack. Then I picked which apps I didn’t want them from, including Instagram, Facebook and the Mail app (on my personal phone).
Picking and choosing from the start can really help you organize what you need to know about and what you don’t need to know about. I’m in the habit of opening my Mail app throughout the day, so I know I won’t miss those notifications.

So how do you go about changing the notifications? What most people assume is the app has all the answers for them. However, navigating to the phone’s settings and doing it this way is often key to changing and updating your notifications.
Head over to ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Notifications.’

This will show you all of your apps. When you click an app, it gives you options of changing the style, sounds and badges (which are the red icons that appear to tell you there are notifications unopened).

So come up with a plan, then set your apps once you know what you need! I hope this helps you better mentally deal with your phone going forward.
