3 ways to get red carpet ready

LIFESTYLE

Maybe you’re getting ready for a red carpet or perhaps another big event – a wedding, a party, a professional obligation – and you want to look your best. Here are some tips I use to get red carpet ready using, yep you guessed it, digital tools!

I’ve covered the Oscars a few times for work, and I still remember my first red carpet there. I can’t count how many red carpets I’ve done overall by now. But you can trust me when I say I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get ready for them without spending a fortune.

Below are some ideas that can help you when it comes to looking good on a budget!

1. Watch videos online

Platforms like YouTube and Facebook have helpful tutorials when it comes to doing makeup and hair. I am not a makeup pro by any means, but I have surprised myself with eyeshadow, lashes, braids and curls just by watching videos online.

2. Shop around

I’ve stumbled upon pretty good deals online when it comes to buying an outfit or gown. But I also like to compare what it’s like to rent options. Some sites offer photos of real people wearing the dress or outfit, which is super helpful.

And don’t forget to look for online coupons! If you want to splurge with a hairdo or purchasing jewelry try googling around to see if you can find some deals.

3. Look for ideas and inspiration

Maybe you’re unsure of which style you want to go with – or maybe you’re in the mood to take a chance. Try looking at different inspiration boards on Pinterest and see what other people have done or even put together themselves. You may be pleasantly surprised by what you find!

Here’s what I’ve learned in the first month of parenting:

Breastfeeding while trying to eat with one hand should be an Olympic sport. 😂

I’ve been coming to the realization I may never sleep a full night again or ever stop worrying. 😅

Baby coos, smiles, laughs, cuddles and snuggles are better than anything in the world. 🫶

Other parents are essential to learn from and lean on for support and staying in touch with loved ones, family and friends, is vital for your mood and sanity. Even if you feel like you have no time in the world or feel overwhelmed by visitors, you can try to socialize virtually. 🤗

Having a supportive, loving and adoring partner like @mpjym is everything. ❤️
