There are apps you can use to help with family planning. I used two apps when we wanted to conceive which made the process less stressful and helped us track my ovulation. P.S. This page may contain affiliate links. Please see my disclosure for more information.

I used two apps to track my ovulation: Premom and Natural Cycles. The reason women want to track their ovulation is because that’s around the time they can get pregnant. Usually, you want to try to conceive in the days leading up to your ovulation.
How the apps work
Premom is an app I used with ovulation tests. I ordered the tests from Amazon. The way it works is you take the test and then track it in the app:

I took a picture of each test with the app and it imported and decoded the tests instantly.
“Premom is the only fertility app that can read the ovulation test luteinizing hormone (LH) levels in real-time,” writes the app.
One thing to note is the LH tests sometimes had low readings even when I was ovulating, and also during the time I was able to become pregnant in March. So it may depend on when you take the test and how much liquid is in your system. I wouldn’t go 100% by these tests. I used them as a secondary source to Natural Cycles.

Natural Cycles is an app you use with a thermometer, which you can buy through the app. Then each morning, as soon as you wake up and before you get out of bed, you take your temperature and record it in the app.
This is what it looks like when you record temperature:

And the app tells you if you’re fertile or not that day based on your temperature and where you are in your cycle. You need to track a few months for the app to learn your cycle. So I started using the app in advance of trying to conceive.

This is the app’s calendar layout at a glance, you’ll see on February 9 and March 17 the app tracked I ovulated. March was the month we got pregnant, and that’s when the colors changed to blue.

Why use both apps?
I used both apps because I liked to cross-reference the information and data. I used Natural Cycles more strictly because I wanted it to learn my cycle, and in turn, it would give me data as my ovulation date approached. As the date neared, I’d take a few tests with the Premom app.
Whatever you decide to use, just try to relax and go with the flow! I know it’s easier said than done, but staying positive and remaining calm is a huge part of conceiving.
Also, remember to be patient with the apps. Both apps didn’t give me clear readings at first. My LH levels read low for Premom in the beginning because I was taking tests on the wrong days. And Natural Cycles couldn’t read my ovulation for a few months. So try to be patient!
