Google Drive is a great way to store and share information. The reason it’s great is because you can create a number of items that you can easily send to others, from spreadsheets to presentations to videos to documents. Here’s how to share Google Drive files with others so they can view and edit them.

First, navigate to your Drive: https://drive.google.com/
Then navigate to the item you want to send. Right-click it and you’ll get these options:

You can select “Share” or “Get link” – if you choose the latter then you will see these options:

You can choose to change permissions for those who have the link to: view it, comment on it or actually edit it.

Once you select your option, make sure to copy and then send the link – you can email it, text it, etc. The person or people should now be able to open it and use on their end.
Sharing permissions can also be changed when you have an item open. You would select the top right three dots shown here:

Click “Share” and then you will have the option to type in names and email addresses to send to directly, or you can copy a link again. Remember, you can also get “Share” as an option in the way I showed you above.

When you do it this way you will also have the choice to make a restricted link sharing option:

If you choose “Restricted” then you have to make sure you add people to the document by clicking the gray icon above where it says “No one has been added yet.”
And that’s how you share Google Drive files with others!
