
This is a piece of advice that goes a long way in the working world. Explain your idea in a sentence. While it may sound simple, how many times have you tried to explain something and found it’s taken you a lot longer than you thought it would?

Using this tactic can help you get to your point most effectively. Why? Because it’s succinct and people will listen to succinct. Also, if it’s well done they will understand your idea at its most fundamentally important point.
My biggest piece of advice: Do not overthink it.

Start by saying the idea out loud. Use as many words as needed and then say it again with less words. Next, write it down. Even if you start with two or three sentences. Then get it down to one. Include the most vital information so that whomever you are delivering the information to will fully understand your idea.

Keep in mind it doesn’t have to cover everything – you will get to everything else later. Just start with your idea in a sentence. Use the most basic and most important information and go from there!
